The Embassy of the State of Palestine in Abu Dhabi participated in the #StayAtHome Campaign committed to support the “UAE Volunteers” national campaign and all voluntary efforts on the volunteers.ae platform, whereas a number of embassy officials have donated their blood to support the national efforts combating the Covid-19 crisis.
HE Issam Masalha, the Palestinian Ambassador to Abu Dhabi was the first donator in line followed by Gamal Abu Baker president of the Palestinian labor council in Abu Dhabi, Malek Melhem president of the Palestinian labor council in Dubai and the northern Emirates, Hamadan Nezal embassy consultant for the embassy of the state of Palestine, and Nabih Al Ali member of the Palestinian labor council.
On this occasion, HE Issam Masalha said: “The UAE has always provided its residents with safety, security, and prosperity, and its good deeds have reached all those near and far with continuous efforts to lead the humanitarian work across the world. Accordingly, it is our duty as residents and citizens of the UAE to give back whenever an opportunity arises especially in times such as these, we all stand united to face these challenges.”
HE Issam Masalha added: “This initiative of the Palestinian Embassy to donate blood in these circumstances is a message of solidarity and social responsibility towards our communities and mankind. It is also an invitation to all Palestinians residing in the UAE and other residents to volunteer in any way they can through the “UAE Volunteers” initiative with its multiple offerings. We believe that blood donation is a national duty that only takes minutes but in return can save lives.”
The Palestinian embassy in the UAE had earlier urged the Palestinian community in the country to take part and respond to the national campaign when it was launched, as it allows all residents and citizens to volunteer on the field and virtually in a number of areas that can support national and community efforts focused on limiting the spread of Covid-19.
