May 15, 2024

The Ministry of Community Development completed the design and development of (4) services to align with the "Government Services Development Guide 2.0" to cater people of determination including “applying for a people of determination card, proactive renewal, and issuing a replacement for lost or damaged cards", in addition to the "marriage grants disbursement" service.

This initiative aims to support the ministry's vision in enhancing government work that aligns with the strategic directives of the UAE government in providing advanced digital services and delivering them to all social categories with convenience.

Comprehensive Package

The Ministry completed the development of the service for issuing cards for people of determination by adding two new services: proactive card renewal and replacement for lost or damaged cards, making it a "comprehensive package." The service included streamlining requirements, reducing the number of documents by linking with UAE pass and relevant authorities requiring only a personal photo and a medical report, as well as reducing the card issuance time from (10) to just (5) working days.

Furthermore, the Ministry enhanced the marriage grant service by reducing the number of required fields from (27) to (20) thus eliminating the need of attaching documents which were (11) before and decreasing the service processing time from (15) days to (5) days only.

E-connectivity

The improvements made included enhancing the process of applying for marriage grants through e-connectivity linkage with relevant authorities, reducing requirements for applicants, and proactively providing the service by connecting with federal and local courts to regulate marriage cases among UAE citizens through "My Family" application, in collaboration with the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Port Security. Any changes in the social status in My Family" application for marriage grant beneficiaries are directly linked to the marriage grant service at the Ministry of Community Development.

The improvements included obtaining applicants' data through e-connectivity to study and determine eligibility for the marriage grant, activating a proactive message sent to grant beneficiaries, and a link to participate in “Edaad” program, disbursing the grant and transferring it to the beneficiary's account.

It is worth mentioning that the Ministry of Community Development continues its efforts to design and develop its services to align and adapt with the "Government Services Development Guide 2.0", aiming to meet the needs of customers in new and effective ways, implement the targets and goals of the National Agenda to enhance social cohesion, adopt strategies and plans that anticipate the next fifty years, leading to achieving the targeted aspirations in the UAE Centennial 2071.
