"We Will Reach You", a mobile unit initiative, which provides home care for 360 elderly people in the emirate of Ajman

His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman, Municipality and Planning Department in Ajman, stated that the elderly people are the main pillars of the community. The blessings and the goodness come with their presence. We learn from them a lot in various ways of life. Those who have given years of their lives to establish a cohesive community and spared no effort to work hard to raise the flag of the nation wherever the location and place they were. This was during his inauguration of the "We Will Reach You" initiative, a mobile unit that provides home care for the elderly in cooperation with the Ministry of Community Development. Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development and a number of officials in the emirate attended the inauguration ceremony held at Ajman Home for the Elderly affiliated to the Ministry of Community Development.

His Highness pointed out that the Emirate of Ajman is seeking, under direct guidance of the wise government, to provide all types of support to the elderly people as well as offering all the necessities of decent life and supporting them through providing convenient and easy services that improve their lives and provide them with luxury and absolute comfort. His Highness explained that the community of the Emirate identifies the great value of the elderly people, respects and appreciates their presence as well as endeavour to achieve living and a happy life in which the elderly people will be at the forefront of the nation. His Highness stated that the Municipality Department is keen to implement the UAE Strategy and Vision 2021, which aims at achieving a decent and a happy life for the UAE community by achieving integration and joining the roles and efforts between the various sectors. He pointed out that the initiative which enhances the links of joint cooperation with the Ministry of Community Development and establishing strategic partnership aiming at providing medical care to every elderly person in the Emirate as well as providing all kinds of examinations required in an innovative and durable manner. His Highness said that the initiative, which will aim at the provision of a mobile unit equipped with all the medical equipment, will provide services to 360 elderly persons in the Emirate of Ajman who are registered in the Ministry to get the examination of blood pressure, glucose level, periodic examinations, physical therapy sessions, memory strengthening etc, where it is expected that the medical staff in the mobile unit 1900 make an annual visit to the elderly person, offering sustainable medical and social services, that are characterized by high quality and use of modern equipment and innovative technologies to ensure that the elderly person will receive intensive care.

On her part, Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Community Development, stressed that launching the mobile unit for the care of the elderly, "We Will Reach You", which aims to provide them with appropriate treatment at their residences in Ajman, is in line with the UAE wise government's directives and leadership as well as in line with the vision of the UAE 2021  that the UAE will be one of the best countries in the world in terms of social development, by the Golden Jubilee of the Union in 2021, achieving the objectives and vision of the Ministry of Community Development in promoting family cohesion and social consolidation and in line with the national UAE agenda. She also praised the keenness of Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Municipality and Planning Department in the Emirate of Ajman, to support the initiatives and agenda of the Ministry of Community Development, which reinforces and consolidates the value of integration of roles among different sectors in the UAE. Also, she stressed that the UAE community is united by its leadership and its people to draw up the themes of building and development in an environment of stability and happiness.

Her Excellency explained that the UAE government is keen to harness all the potentials and efforts to make its community happy by implementing and developing a number of policies and legislations for all members of the community including family and elderly people to ensure their rights and duties and achieve a decent living in a positive, happy and stable family environment contributing in building and developing the UAE community. Her Excellency praised the awareness of the various institutions in the country, in their different sectors, the importance of their role in establishing community responsibility, so that they have a clear imprint in contributing to initiatives and community projects that have a long-term community impact, contributing to the UAE march to promote the concept of sustainable development. The elderly persons are deemed to be among the priority groups on the agenda of the UAE Government in recognition of their role, which contributed to the renaissance of the country and outlined its features in various fields that have strengthened its position globally. During launching the initiative, His Highness acquainted with the services provided to the elderly people at the Elderly House in Ajman, His Highness also praised the great role played by the qualified staff in the institution that is able to deal with the elderly people segment, supporting them and providing  them with all the necessities for  their welfare as well as understanding their needs,
